January 11, 1982 - May 29, 2020
Travis Matthew Lopez was born on January 11, 1982 in San Jose, California. Travis leaves his mother Teresa Lynn Stuart (Tim Hale) of Escalon, his father Ray Anthony Lopez (Stepmother Robin) of Tracy, his brother Tony Lopez of Yelm WA, and sister Taylor Thompson (David) of Denair. Travis is also survived by his maternal grandmother Alice Stuart of Oakdale, and his fiancé Jessica Ponce of San Jose (and their dog Scrappy Doo!), whom he shared his life with these past 8 years. Travis also leaves his uncles Greg Stuart of Manteca and Tim Stuart (Sherri) of Tennessee, his aunts Sheri Stuart of Idaho and Debbie Blankenship (Steve) of Arkansas, and his many cousins. He had six nieces and one nephew, Alexis, Vanessa, Julia, Tatum, Anthony, Emma and Addison whom he loved dearly and loved to spend time with teasing and playing. The children looked forward to spending time with “Uncle Trav.” He grew up in Escalon and graduated from Escalon High School in 2000. He later moved to Tracy with his father while working at Peoplesoft in Pleasanton. He decided to go back to school in 2009 and graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University in 2013 earning the Outstanding Graduating Senior award. While at San Jose State he took part in the Thompson Global Internship program through which he spent time working in Hong Kong at Crown Worldwide Holdings. He also traveled to Austria for the Salzburg Global Citizenship program where he met the love of his life, Jessica. After graduation, he worked as a Business Analyst at Netapp, Inc. in Sunnyvale. Travis had a kind, loving heart. He had a passion for helping others and would literary give the shirt off his back to a total stranger. He was strong in his faith and his walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He left behind a legacy of giving and in 2013 he started the World Changer Scholarship at SJSU. We would like to continue the work he did to help students at SJSU.
